The new, electronic, PDR System will be launched
from October 2011. It will be used by all research
degrees students and your supervisor(s) and
support groups, to record progress throughout your

NERC REP (Research Experience Placements)
Projects 2011
2 NERC funded 10-week summer placements will be
available in our School this summer. These
placements give a taster of what it's like to be a
postgraduate researcher. Successful candidates
will be paid £200 per week for up to 10 weeks and
receive a £500 training grant.
Deadline for applications: 5pm
on Friday 29 April 2011 by email, with
supporting documents, to M.Lesnianski@leeds.ac.uk.

Certain items are now available to purchase
on-line. Examples are: replacement degree
certificates (£30); certified copies of degree
certificates (£3 for a set of 3); award statements
(available free of charge to former students for 3
months after they have appeared on the Pass List -
after that deadline it will be £5 for the first
copy and £3 per additional copy ordered at the
same time as the first copy). The web address for

Appeals and complaints
You should make use of the University
Complaints Procedure if you are dissatisfied
with any aspect of your supervision or facilities
available for research. In the first instance, you
are encouraged to consult your supervisor or the
Postgraduate Research Tutor and, after the outcome
of that consultation, to make use of the
University Complaints Procedure, where
appropriate.
