Connemara 2014
By Dan Morgan
The Connemara field trip is always interesting for the varied weather that it throws at the field class. The photos with this blog post demonstrate the same outcrop on each of the two successive weeks; clearly it was better to have been on the first week!
This year marked the last time that Bruce Yardley would officially be coming along and leading the Connemara field class. Over the various years that Bruce has been coming here, a quick back of the envelope calculation suggests that he has taken between eight hundred and a thousand Leeds undergraduate students to this field area over the time that he has been teaching here, a remarkable achievement. At the end of the second week Bruce was given a standing ovation by the students and a piece of Connemara marble to remember the field class by.
