View south across Loch Assynt at horizontally bedded
Torridonian sandstones lying unconformably on Lewisian gneisses. The
sandstones were deposited under fluviatile conditions on a topographic
land surface, revealed here by the presence of a palaeo-valley. Elsewhere
in Assynt, both palaeo-valleys and palaeo hills can be observered
along the unconformity..
