Looking onto a 3D outcrop of folded quartzites, with an intense stretching lineation plunging down the fold hinge line. These relationships (parallel hinge and stretching lineations) are thought to b e indicative of very high shear strain which has rotated all linear structures into parallel. Platjen, Swiss Alps.
