Meall a'Ghuibhais is one of the very few klippen of thrust sheets outside the Assynt area of the thrust belt. This structure is an outlier of the Kinlochewe sheet, with an underlying horse of quartzites. This sheet originally overlay the imbricates of Torridonian and Cambrian sediments that crop out on Beinn Eighe.
