A
shear zone developed in granodiorite with xenoliths. Notice that within the
shear zone the xenoliths are strung out into elliptical shapes while outside
the shear zone (on the right of the photograph) the xenoliths are less intensely
deformed. The bend-in of sheared xenoliths allows the relative sense of shear
to be determined.
