B.Sc. Project - Dyke pressurisation and fault plane solutions at Soufriere Hills, Montserrat

      Project aims and description:

  • To analyse how the regional and local stress fields in Montserrat will change in the intermediate stage before a volcanic eruption, compare this with other studies at different volcanoes and review the use of this technique as a tool for forecasting volcanic eruptions.
  • To assess and improve original data analysis and create alternative models for the rotation of stress fields to critically test the credibility of the original stress field model.
